Princess Mononoke

Very short story:

I made this fan art in preparation for the re-release of Princess Mononoke on IMAX. Unfortunately, Philippines wasn't part of the "global" release.

Days after I published this art, the AI-generated Studio Ghibli inspired "art" spread on the internet like a wildfire. It almost broke my heart to see people gullibly using AI to generate their image into Studio Ghibli instead of letting real human artists to make it for them.

Although I understand how simple the process was, a click-and-play feature that lets you put your image in the world of Mr. Miyazaki. However, it was sad that real artists are getting underappreciated by AI. Not to mention the fact that it replicates the art style in its entirety, there's no soul in the artwork, just constructs of program.

I hope that anyone who views this image will realize that with every stroke of the paint brush, traditional and digital, the soul of the art rests within those brushstrokes.

Art is for everyone, but AI has no place in the art community.
